    Green Hills Butterfly Ranch

    Wander through the lagest butterfly house in Belize and take fabulous up-close photos of Green Hills Butterfly Ranch's 30 native butterfly species. Witness all the stages of metamorphosis, from egg to butterfly. The friendly staff speak a variety of English, Spanish, and Creole and will be happy to show you around. Apart from the butterflies, Green Hills' 250-acre (101 hectare) property is also home to a rich biodiversity of flora and fauna such as ardency flowers, bromeliads, heliconias, orchids, hummingbirds, agoutis, margays, jaguars and gibnuts. Birder’s also enjoy the reserve's pristine rainforest which is home to about 300 species of birds.

    What to Wear & Bring: Shorts or lightweight long pants and shirt with comfy shoes for walking on hiking trails.  It’s also nice to bring along sunscreen, insect repellent, a hat, and a little drinking water.
