Yaxhá
Yaxhá is an amazing “freshly prepped” Mayan site just across the border from Belize in Guatemala. Restoration is newly complete – but still ongoing. The only thing it lacks are crowds! The architecture of this site will astound you. There are several opportunities to climb to the top of a temple and look down on other temples and to see how this city was built adjacent to nearby natural lakes. This park is also a great place to find wildlife, and an even greater place to witness how strangler figs do their magic to take over a space in the forest.
Drive Time from Table Rock: 2 hours, on paved highway and unpaved access roads
Adventure Level: Moderate. This tour starts early and involves loads of walking. For those who want to take the challenge up a notch, be sure to climb to the tops of the temple ruins.

If you do not hold a passport from the USA, UK, or Canada, please check Guatemalan visa requirements. Don’t forget your US$20/BZ$40 per person to pay your border crossing fee. Extra water, a hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, and insect repellent are also recommended.
